My original inspiration for the first book in the series, started with the hero of 'Beloved Enemy', Kerry Marchant. He invaded my dreams and I just had to start writing about him. Then came his starship. the Destiny, and her crew - and the woman who became the heroine of the first book 'Starquest', Jestine Darnell, or Jess as she likes to be known. However the characters did not conform to the plan I had for them. Jess became the main character in the story, and a minor character, Dahll, became far more important than I had intended. They visited many strange and sometimes dangerous planets and then argued with me about the ending. What had started out as a short story, became a novel, followed by a 'sequel' 'Children Of The Mist', set on Niflheim, one of the planets Jess came across in her 'quest'. This tells the story of Tamarith, one of the many friends she made there. Then Kerry nagged at me to give him the 'h.e.a.' he'd lost out on in Starquest and so I ended up with a trilogy.
'Beloved Enemy' was so much fun to write. I have become very fond of Kerry and the crew of the Destiny, and I enjoyed introducing a new character, Cat Kincaid, and her trusty pet 'chameleopard,' Shifter. Cat and Kerry have nothing but mistrust for each other at first. In fact, Cat has sworn to kill him. However a smouldering attraction builds between them as they are obliged to work together to survive on a hostile planet. (Each book is a complete story in itself, but although it's not essential, it will probably enhance your reading experience to read them in order - especially the first book)

What people say
STARQUEST
WHAT A JOURNEY! This is story of a woman who travels through an intriguing alien world. Highly imaginative, it takes the reader on a wild and curious ride. There are fascinating characters, strange places and some romance. But it's not all sweetness and light for the protagonist experiences some awful things. In that sense, it's a credible story of the full range of human emotion and experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the sci-fi romance genre.

CHILDEN OF THE MIST
This is world-building at its finest. Tamarith fell in love with a man she can never have but meets handsome Vidarh who has abilities beyond most of their people. The people in this world are psychics, but have suddenly fallen prey to a deadly disease. They call for help from some old friends (see Starquest, the first book in this series) and then have to fight off invaders. A nice romance in an interesting world.

BELOVED ENEMY
This book was so good. It started with action and it never let up. There was great tension between the two main characters. The author did a good job of keeping the reader questioning who was on which side, and what would happen next. There was solid scifi world-building. The ending resolution was satisfying. Well done. I'd read more of this author's work.
